This was one of my first pieces where I sewed the ceramics to the fabric covered canvas, but this was an irregular shape, so we stretched the fabric onto a custom wood panel. I created a circle with some texture, broke it when it was leather hard, drilled holes it and fired it twice. I used a black underglaze for a washed out and matte finish. Then I attached it to sustainable linen. The beads flow from the cracks as if the breaking of the circle released them from within. I used Japanese sashiko thread to attach the ceramics to the fabric.
